Single Session Therapy FAQ
Knowing that SST is not something that everyone is familiar with, below you will find some responses to common queries that are part of the Single Session experience.

What is SST?
SST is exactly what it says on the tin! SST is an opportunity to engage in therapy for a single session which is made up of three key elements:
1. Focusing questionnaire
2. A video call (1.5/2 hours)
3. Follow up call
You might wonder, can a single session change anything? Research says that can.
Importantly, it is important to manage expectations and be realistic about what is achievable.
Will I benefit from a single session?
No guarantees will be made about how you will feel about the session. However, you are welcome to a consultation ahead of our process, in the same way that any other person I work with is.
If overall you have the ability to manage your current situation, but would value the opportunity to process with someone outside of your context, then you may benefit from this approach.
SST will give you the opportunity to step back from your situation and gain some therapeutic support and reinforcement, to aid you as you continue to advance.
Do I have to limit my meeting to a single session?
Not at all, though you will not be pressured either way.
For some people, the idea of knowing that they can check in for a meeting as and when they choose to, is perfect. For others, knowing that they are free to begin a process having ‘dipped their toes’ into the ocean of therapy, may be feel less pressurising than booking in for a longer period of time.
This process is about you taking control of your situation void of pressure.
How do I get going?
You have two options:
If you are ready, let Sashi know that you would like to book in for a meeting. Once we have agreed the time of your meeting, you will be sent relevant documentation, an invoice and a link. If you have a few questions and would value the opportunity to have a free consultation, then get in touch with Sashi, we
will agree a time and you will be able to check in with what feels right for now.
If you choose not to go ahead after consultation, that’s just fine. What is most important is that you feel clear, able to make a decision that feels right for you.
I look forward to connecting and working with you.
