You may be interested to know something about my qualifications, experience, and professional membership.
Mentoring has been a passion for a number of years; I have engaged in this in a number of contexts beyond therapy and continue to today too. Some thirty years ago I began to engage mentoring young people. I was also based within a secondary school first as a teacher then as a counsellor for over twenty years. Within the same setting I also set up a Peer Mentoring network that had significant impact within the school community over some years as well. In 2010, I began my training as a counsellor, and have worked as a counsellor with both young people and adults for around fifteen years.
Due to my own experiences of being born into a mixed-racial heritage home and having also lived and worked abroad, I have a curious interest in working with people of differing cultures. Working therapeutically with individuals globally has afforded me the opportunity of working through a broad range of issues with people due to cultural difference and experience.
My supervision, coaching and counselling work have been rich and varied. I am privileged to have gained experience of engaging with people from a diverse range of backgrounds who work both in the field of therapy and professional settings beyond.
The professional membership that I currently hold is with the Association of Christians in Counselling (UK).
